Installation Tech Tips

• Check Valve Placement – Install a check valve on the suction side of the pump when possible. This keeps water in the pump basket, making re-priming easier and start-up faster.
• Larger Suction Plumbing – Use the same size or larger piping on the suction side compared to the return port. Example: Install 2″ pipe into a 1.5″ suction port using a reducer bushing.
• Straight Pipe Requirement – Maintain a minimum of 12″ of straight pipe before the pump’s suction inlet to reduce turbulence and improve priming. For larger plumbing, keep a distance of 5× the pipe diameter from the first valve, tee, or elbow to the pump inlet. Example: 2.5″ pipe requires 12.5″ clearance.

• Elbow Placement – Avoid 90° elbows within 12″ of the pump inlet or outlet. Two 45° fittings are better than a single 90°.

• Isolation Valves – Install valves on both the suction and return lines to simplify pump maintenance and servicing.

• Saltwater Ready – This pump can handle salt concentrations up to 5,000 ppm—ideal for modern salt pool systems.

⚠️ Do Not install 90° elbows directly into the inlet or outlet. This creates flow restrictions that can shorten pump life.
